Sustainability & Sourcing

Sustainability, Guaranteed

From waste to high-value nutrition: Upcycling innovation
We transform what was once an environmentally challenging waste stream — over half a billion sheep skins are discarded globally every year — into high-value nutrition for women’s health.

This materially improved the environmental impact of the NZ red meat industry. In just nine months (July 2024 to March 2025), TEO converted 553 tonnes of waste sheepskins that would otherwise have gone to landfill.

100% New Zealand Origin

Ovitage® is sourced exclusively from sheep raised on New Zealand farms, where pasture-based systems are globally recognised for their sustainability and animal welfare standards.

Our closed-loop supply chain ensures full traceability from farm to finished ingredient, maintaining integrity at every stage. The process guarantees a low environmental impact and zero deforestation, avoiding the sustainability issues common in other animal-derived collagens.

Animal Welfare & Quality Assurance

New Zealand sheep are raised outdoors on open pasture year-round under ethical farming practices governed by the NZ Animal Welfare Act 1999.

All Ovitage® manufacturing is conducted in MPI-certified, Risk Management Programme-audited facilities, meeting both New Zealand Government and international food safety frameworks.
